KNOB OF THE WEEK.
Who else but the WDF, who announced their prize money for their yearly amateur clusterfuck. The money is down on last year but the acted like this was good news. As for broadcast, the only channel they could coerce in to showing this shit was Ayozat TV.....can they get any more obscure than that, things are so bad they have been reduced to showing this live unintentional comedy roadshow on youtube and then have the audacity to call this move a "hybrid strategy". Is this code for we got fuck all else options ?
BEAU GREAVES
There was a few people who suggested Greaves should have won Knob of the Week for her declining the Ally Pally invite, but I think she made the correct decision., and for than one reason.
For example as much as I laugh at the morons who stupidly thing the Mens WDF amateur event is a World championships, the women's event is a true world championship for them as it is the only one in the game...yes game not sport.
Sky can herald Pinocchio all they want, bullshit the couch potatoes that Pinocchio is breaking imaginary glass ceilings and try hoodwink people with their inane gibberish of how she is the best female player in the world, when all real dart fans know that is not true.
Greaves is the current World Champion and hardly a shock she would want to defend it , and equal Suzuki with 2 titles, and be one away from Anastasia who picked up 3., and have no doubt she is well capable of beating Ashton's 4 titles, although Gullivers 10 seems unlikely.
For all the hype of Sherrock, she never won a world title, nor a tour card despite multiple attempts, and her only big trophy if you can even call it that was an event which Greaves was not even part of.
Secondly who is there to stop her from not only winning a second munters title, but picking up the 25k that goes with it for the winner ? If she went to Ally Pally she would probably need to win at least 3 games to earn the same and that is most unlikely as even the lowest male PDC players are still a level above her, so financially I also believe she made the correct decision.
Thirdly, there are some deluded fuckwits out there who actually believe PDC fans are upset she wont be at Ally Pally as if her choosing the WDF was some sort of coup. As a PDC fan I am not upset, in fact I am delighted, as it means one less munter stinking up the event and subjecting the viewers to untold repetitive shit and ass kissing.
However should she fuck up and not win the WDF event she may well look back in hindsight as making the wrong decision career wise, but at the moment, she is right to try win another title and pocket a handy 25k.
DARTS IS A GAME NOT A SPORT
As I said earlier Darts is a game, a well paid game, that if done right can earn you a lot of money, but it is only a game, much like Chess or Snooker. I am sick of idiots thinking because some other stupid game might be in the olympics it somehow validates considering a game mostly played by piss heads as a sport.
Ned Boulting posted this on twitter, obviously he had no response to my reply.
Hertforshire Darts posted this about Jarred Cole, who tonight jobbed away his lead in modus
PDC EURO TOUR
Christian goldfish mouth Kist had a good 3 days in the players championships this week reaching a final, a semi final and a last 16 which got mushroom simpletons to come out of the woodwork to spout how he is a "former world champion". Fair play to Kist, that run moved him up the rankings, and if he can continue his good form he might overtake the greats of the PDC in George Killington, Brian Raman, Krzysztof Kciuk and Jimmy Hendriks.
As for Fridays winner Gary Anderson, he played 17 games in the 3 days of players championships, and not counting one game where he averaged 92.82, the other 16 averages were all over 96, of which 13 were over a 100 average and 7 of them over 105, his highest being 111.38. Over the 3 days, his tournament average was in excess of 103, and with a handy draw in the Grand Prix against Jose the Portuguese Winstanley De Sousa I reckon Ando could go on a decent run.
MODUS SUPER SERIES.
Was anyone shocked Neil Duff was invited back yet again ? Yank Alex Spellman completely dominated group A, so Duff had to depend on group B to get through, It don't matter if he loses yet again on their finals night as he will be back again in a fortnight no doubt, yet other Irish players have to qualify for the right to be chosen.
